Integrating Conventional Medicine with Holistic Therapies

HOLISTIC APPROACH
We provide conventional and complementary veterinary care to your pets, focusing in preventative health, pain and chronic disease management and improving sports performance.
We offer a comprehensive range of traditional first opinion veterinary practice services to registered clients, integrated with complementary therapies whenever possible.
We combine Acupuncture, Laser and Herbal Supplements alongside Conventional treatments in a non-clinical environment. We know how important it is in the healing process that our patients and their human companions are comfortable during the treatment and the practice has been built up around this concept.
We also take Referrals for Acupuncture and Laser treatments from other veterinary practices.
HOW DO THE INTEGRATED THERAPIES WORK?
Acupuncture is part of the Chinese Medical System that has been successfully used for thousands of years; it improves the blood flow and influences functions regulated by the Autonomous Nervous System by stimulating carefully selected points of the body’s Meridians. It is particularly useful as part of the management of the “old age” musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, hip displasia or paresis, and in the management of chronic disease. It can also be used in many acute conditions to support the conventional treatments.
Low Level Laser Therapy is a more modern therapy which promotes healing by using the power of light to enhance energy production at cellular levels resulting in faster healing and pain relief in a wide range of conditions. It can be used to stimulate acupuncture points as well.
Herbal Supplements can be used alongside conventional treatments but they are not safe just because they are natural; many herbs have got the potential to cause side effects on their own or mixed with conventional drugs. Always check with your vets before starting any herbal supplement.
