Integrating Conventional Medicine with Holistic Therapies

I Qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from the University of Zaragoza in 2001 and started my veterinary career doing a two year Internship with Professors of Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery Jose Rodriguez Gomez and Ramon Sever Bermejo.

In 2003 I moved to the UK after obtaining my Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Working initially in the Farm Animal field I very soon moved to General Practice. Over the years I have worked with Goddard Veterinary Group in London, Companion Care Vets, Vetcall and VetsNow Emergency Services in the South of England and with Mark Elliott and his team in Oving, near Chichester.

In 2011 while still working for other Veterinary Practices I opened a Veterinary Complementary Therapies Consultancy in Haslemere, consulting from the Woodland Veterinary Centre Haslemere Branch. 4 years down the line I decided to be solely dedicated to the integration of Holistic Treatments in General Practice, and I opened the Petersfield Centre for Integrated Veterinary Medicine to increase the availability of these services in the area.

My interest in Natural Medicine comes from a very young age and so it does my very positive personal experience with these therapies. However, for some reason the similarities with the human and the veterinary medical system took a while to strike me and make me revise the day to day practice I was geared in.

In order to prepare myself to offer a more holistic approach to my patients' health problems I undertook Postgraduate Studies delivered by the Faculty of Homeopathy, by the London AcuMedic Foundation in cooperation with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, by the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists ABVA and by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society IVAS, being one of the few veterinarians in the UK holding a Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture.

I am currently:

Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons MRCVS

Member of the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists ABVA

Member of the British Association of Veterinary Herbalists BAVH

Member of the British Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Association BVRSMA

Licensed Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy LFHomVet
